In 1979 the Fatback Band pressed up, the first commercially released hip-hop record in history… King Tim III (Personality Jock). Coincidentally, that same year in San Jose CA… a young lady named Wendy, would be brought into the world and spend the next 32 years of her life, growing up with, loving, and living the hip-hop culture. Wendy has pretty much dabbled in every element of hip-hop except for emceeing. With respect to all of them, it was only natural that the artist in her, would have an affinity for the graff aspect. Wendy attended Long Beach State, and got her bachelors of art, with an emphasis in graphic design. Coupled with her love of fashion, she was inspired to design accessories, that she herself would want and look for. Thanks to the artwork of Rase (of Full Time Artists) Wendy was able to utilize his letters for this unique project. From there Wendy created her own business and … “Lobe Riders” was born. With several designs already in production, future styles, and various accessories are well on their way.
